World House Cabin at dusk, string lights glowing along the deck

World House Cabin

Tonight you're sleeping in

Your guide to the cabin, the mountains around it, and everything in between.

Welcome in.

We're so glad you're here.

Every room in this cabin was designed around a different corner of the world: a tropical Bali bedroom, a whitewashed Santorini loft, a Rio-inspired game room and a Nordic deck with its own sauna. All of it sits in a quiet wooded cul-de-sac in Sky Harbor, a few miles from Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and the national park.

This guide has everything you need: how to use the hot tub, sauna and espresso machine, the house rules, and our favorite places to eat, hike and explore nearby. If anything isn't right, message us through your booking app and we'll take care of it.

Amenities

Hot tub

Upper deck

Before you get in

  1. Open the cover fully and secure it so it can't fall back onto the tub. Never sit or stand on the cover, and don't drag it across the deck.
  2. Check the water. It should look clear, not cloudy, foamy or smelly. If the water looks unusually low, or a drain cover at the bottom looks broken or loose, don't get in. Message us first.
  3. Check the display on the tub's edge. It shows the water temperature, which may lag a few minutes. Water should never exceed 104°F (40°C).

Using the controls

  • JETS: short presses cycle low speed, high speed and off. Gentle circulation may keep running after the jets are off. That's normal heating and filtration, so leave the tub powered on.
  • Up and down arrows: set the target temperature. The first press shows the current setting. Heating is gradual. Never set it above 104°F.

Completely normal: the tub hums and circulates on its own, light steam rises on cool nights, and the jets switch off on a built-in timer.

Safety rules

  • Rinse off with soap before getting in. Lotions, oils, makeup and sunscreen ruin the water.
  • No children under 5. Kids must be supervised by an adult at all times.
  • Don't swallow the water, and stay out if you have diarrhea or an open wound.
  • No alcohol or drugs before or during your soak.
  • Pregnant guests should talk to a healthcare provider before using the hot tub.
  • Soak 10–15 minutes, then get out and cool down. If you feel dizzy, nauseated or overheated, get out right away.
  • No glass in or near the tub, and never bring soap, bubble bath or shampoo into the water.
  • Enter and exit slowly. Steps and seats can be slippery.

When you're finished

  1. Press JETS until the strong jets are off.
  2. Put the cover back on completely and fasten it.
  3. Please don't add chemicals, drain water or change anything other than the temperature. We handle all maintenance.

Sauna

Lower deck
Inside the cedar barrel sauna

Starting the sauna

  1. At the control panel on the outside of the sauna, press ON/OFF.
  2. Press TEMP, then use + and −. New to saunas? Start at 130–150°F.
  3. Press Timer, then use + and −. Set at least 45 minutes; the timer includes warm-up.
  4. Wait about 30–40 minutes for it to heat up. The top number in the display circle is the current temperature.

The control panel

  • ON/OFF: turns the sauna on and off
  • TEMP: press, then + or − to set the temperature (hold to switch °F and °C)
  • Timer: press, then + or − to set the run time
  • Light: turns the inside light on and off

Leave the small switch on the bottom of the control box alone; just use ON/OFF. If the panel doesn't respond, message us.

While you're in

  • Beginners 5–10 minutes, regulars 15–20 minutes. Never more than 30 minutes, and never above 190°F.
  • Dizzy or uncomfortable? Step out, even if you're under these numbers.
  • For steam, gently ladle small amounts of clean water over the hot stones. If it's too intense, open the vent or crack the door.
  • Water only on the stones. Never oils, citrus, alcohol or anything sticky.
  • Sit on a towel and drink water before and after. Gentle cracking noises from the heater are normal.

When you're done

  1. Press ON/OFF to turn the sauna off. Don't rely on the auto shut-off.
  2. Take your belongings with you.
  3. The heater and stones stay hot afterward, so keep towels and kids away.
  4. After 3 hours of use, leave it off for at least 1 hour before another session.

Never place anything on or over the heater, and keep flammable materials away from it.

Jetted tub

Santorini Suite
Jetted tub beneath an arched window

Fill the tub first

  1. Close the drain at the bottom of the tub.
  2. Turn on the tap on the right side of the tub.
  3. Fill with warm water until it fully covers the inlet and all of the jet openings.
  4. Turn the tap off before starting the jets. Running the jets without enough water can damage the pump.

Turn on the jets

  1. Press the round button on the left side of the tub, the side closest to the window.
  2. Press it again at any time to turn the jets off.

When you're finished

  1. Press the button to stop the jets.
  2. Open the drain and let the water out.
  3. As it drains, rinse any soap residue from the tub sides and jets.
  4. Leave the tap off and the tub completely drained.

Use only a little soap or bubble bath; the jets turn a little into a lot of bubbles. Keep hair and loose items away from the jets and suction inlet.

Espresso

Coffee bar
Coffee bar with espresso machine and Keurig

Before you begin

Use cool, fresh water in the water tank and make sure the tank is seated properly. Milk isn't provided, so bring your own for lattes and cappuccinos. Fill the milk reservoir only with your own fresh milk, below the MAX line, and click it securely into place.

Make a drink

  1. Turn on the machine with the power switch on the right side. It beeps and preheats; wait until the lights stop pulsing.
  2. Choose the single or double filter basket and place it in the portafilter. Add fine espresso grounds and tamp gently.
  3. Fit the portafilter into the brew head with the handle pointing left, then rotate it toward the center until secure.
  4. Place your mug on the drip tray. For a taller mug, remove the drip-tray insert.
  5. Tap Espresso once for a single shot or twice for a double. For a latte or cappuccino, use the milk reservoir with your own milk, then tap the drink icon. For an Americano, use the machine's Americano setting.

Quick clean after use

  • Remove the portafilter by rotating it to the left. Use the filter-retention clip to hold the basket while emptying used grounds into the trash.
  • Rinse the portafilter and filter basket. Wash removable parts with dish soap and water, then dry them.
  • For the rinse cycle, reinstall the portafilter and milk reservoir, turn the froth-strength knob to CLEAN, place a mug under the spout and tap CLEAN. Empty the mug afterward.
  • If you used milk, run CLEAN and rinse the milk reservoir and frothing parts promptly. Never put the machine body or cord in water.

Not working? Check that both reservoirs are seated correctly and the portafilter is locked in place. Don't run drink cycles with empty reservoirs. Turn the machine off and message us if the problem continues.

Fire pit

Upper deck
Fire pit glowing at night

To light

  1. Make sure the control knob is in the OFF position.
  2. Remove the side door, slowly open the propane tank valve counterclockwise, then replace the door.
  3. Press and hold the igniter button (the lightning-bolt symbol).
  4. While holding the igniter, push the control knob in and turn it to LOW. Keep holding for about 20 seconds.
  5. Once lit, adjust the flame between LOW and HIGH. A normal flame is yellow and blue, 2–10 inches tall.

If it doesn't light within a few seconds, release the knob, turn it to OFF, wait 5 minutes for the gas to clear, then try again.

To turn off

  1. Turn the knob clockwise to LOW, let it pop up, then continue to OFF.
  2. Close the propane tank valve.
  3. Wait 5 minutes before putting the cover on.

Safety

  • The fire pit runs in 60-minute sessions, as required by the fire marshal. Never leave it unattended.
  • Stand back for the first 20 minutes; the fire glass can pop as it heats.
  • On a windy evening, turn the flame to HIGH.

Black smoke, the flame keeps going out, or you smell gas? Turn the knob OFF, close the tank valve and message us. Please don't disconnect the tank or adjust any parts.

Arcades

Rio & Rumble
Mortal Kombat arcade and wall Connect 4

To play

  1. Flip the ON/OFF switch and wait 10–15 seconds for the cabinet to start.
  2. Use the joystick to scroll the game list, then press Player 1 Start to pick a game. Free play, no coins needed.
  3. Adjust volume with the slider on the control panel: right is louder, left is quieter.
  4. Switch it off when you're done.

Mortal Kombat is two players: Player 1 on the left, Player 2 on the right, each pressing their own Start. Punch, kick and block are labeled on the control deck.

Frozen screen or no sound? Switch it off, wait 1 minute, switch it back on and check the volume slider. Still stuck? Message us. Please don't unplug or open the cabinets, and keep the volume low during quiet hours.

The living room fireplace

Our living room fireplace is resting this winter while we finish some remodeling, so it's not available from November through March. Please don't try to light it. For a cozy fire, the fire pit on Smoky Mountain Basecamp and the electric fireplace in Rio & Rumble are all yours.

House rules

A few rules keep the cabin safe for you, the next guests and the neighbors.

  • 6 overnight guests maximum, including children.
  • Quiet hours are 10 PM–8 AM. Please follow local laws and community rules.
  • No events or parties.
  • Children must be supervised at all times. Because of our natural surroundings and the amenities we offer, children should never be left unattended.
  • No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property, including both decks.
  • No pets. Service animals are welcome as required by law.
  • No fireworks or open flames. The fire pit is the only fire allowed, used as instructed.
  • On the decks, no climbing, leaning over railings or horseplay. Supervise children.
  • The cabin is on a septic system. Flush toilet paper only: no wipes (even "flushable"), feminine products or paper towels.
  • Please don't move furniture, and tell us promptly about any damage.

Safety

You're in the mountains, surrounded by woods and wildlife.

  • In an emergency, call 911, then message us. The cabin is at 1020 Vine Court, Sevierville, TN 37876. The nearest emergency room is LeConte Medical Center, 742 Middle Creek Rd, Sevierville.
  • Supervise children at all times. Because of our natural surroundings and the amenities we offer, including the hot tub, sauna, jetted tub, fire pit and elevated decks, children should never be left unattended.
  • First aid kit: in the kitchen area.
  • Fire extinguishers: one on each floor, on the main level, in the loft and in the basement.
  • Black bears live here. Never feed or approach them, and stay at least 50 yards away. Lock doors and cars, never leave food or trash on the decks or in your car, and keep the outdoor bin's lid closed.
  • Winter roads: the final stretch has steep inclines. 4WD or chains are required in snow or ice.
  • Security cameras: exterior cameras record video and audio in outdoor areas. There are no cameras inside the cabin.
  • Mountain critters: we keep regular pest control, but the occasional insect is part of mountain life. In fall, ladybugs gather across East Tennessee for a few weeks.

Questions, answered

The Wi-Fi stopped working. What should I do?
Outages can happen in the mountains without warning. The fastest fix is to report it to Spectrum, our internet provider, at (833) 267-6094. Then send us a quick message so we know.
Can we use the living room fireplace?
Not this winter. It's resting from November through March while we finish some remodeling. The fire pit on the upper deck and the electric fireplace in Rio & Rumble are ready for you.
Will we see bears?
Most guests don't, but this is their home. If you do, stay at least 50 yards away and give them space. Keep food out of your car and the outdoor bin's lid closed.
Can we check in early?
It isn't guaranteed. If the cleaners finish early, we'll message you the morning of arrival.
